New Sermon Series – FLESH: Bringing the Incarnation Down to Earth

In September, Leonia Church will embark on “The Year of Loving Our Neighbor.” Our goal is to seriously reconsider the second of the great commandments, the commandment to “love your neighbor as yourself.” Who is our neighbor? What does it mean to love our neighbor? If this is the second most important thing that Jesus wants us to do, how can we be intentional about doing it, and how can we do it better? During “The Year of Loving Our Neighbor,” Leonia Church will emphasize very small, simple steps every Christian… every child of God… can take to love others in concrete ways that demonstrate the love of God and reveal Jesus Christ.

To lay a foundation and get us started on the journey, Pastor David will preach a series called “FLESH: Bringing the Incarnation Down to Earth” based on the book of the same title by Hugh Halter. The point of the series is to think about how Jesus is the incarnation of God – God made human – and how, after his ascension, the Church is now to be the Body of Christ – a new incarnation.
