Isolated and with no money to contact their families, First Friends of NJ and NY distributes phone cards, writing materials and stamps to the detainees. The Outreach Ministry team at Leonia Church invites you to assist in collecting the following materials:

  • Size #10 (business size) envelopes With Forever Postage Stamps
  • Blank 2 Pocket Folders
  • Loose Leaf Paper
  • Blank Colored Paper (not construction paper)
  • Note pads
  • Greeting Cards (Including Christmas Cards)
  • Soft Cover Books (non-violent)
  • Stick Pens (no metal inserts)

Leave any donations on Ellie Spiegel’s front porch, 187 Leonia Ave., by December 1.

“People learn from one another, just as iron sharpens iron.” – Proverbs 27:17

Our whole purpose at Leonia Church is to build healthy relationships. Pastor Dave and Pastor Aiden are looking for a way to support and encourage young adults in their day-to-day lives. And, we believe it is more important than ever for young adults to discover people they can connect and grow with. God did not create people to live alone but to live and thrive in community… and in relationship with him.

Family Promise Walk In Dinner at Hackensack Shelter – November 26

Sunday, November 26

Family Promise has been committed to feeding the hungry since 1991.  Every day of the year, a different group is scheduled to prepare and serve dinner at the Health and Human Services Center in Hackensack. Up to 120 people are served a nutritious meal each night. Many of the guests utilizing the program are residents of the shelter. However, the program is open to anyone in the community, no questions asked.

There are two ways you can help:

  1. Bring part of the dinner. Cook something and bring it to the Leonia Church kitchen between 1 and 3 p.m.
  2. Help serve the dinner. Join us at the Hackensack Shelter from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
