When Seasons Change

With a new season, change comes with it.

The Fall season is one of the most beautiful seasons. The way leaves change from shades of green into spectacular colors, a live portrait made by God himself. It looks especially stunning when set to a light blue backdrop of a clear sky. Then a few months later change takes place again, and the colors that were once on full display go away for a season. We are grateful though, for months later,  leaves along with flowers show off once more the vibrant colors that God gave each one.
Life reminds us that change is part of the journey, and on this road, we choose which mindset or perspective we will adopt.  We can adopt a perspective of thankfulness, or we can allow the changes that occur to plunge us into fear or form a wall of bitterness. We are the ones that make the decision. We do not need to allow life and its cares to overburden us.  Actually, we can have our minds and thoughts replenished and renewed. We do this by allowing the Lord’s sweet and holy word to penetrate our thought process and fill us with His joy and hope. He reminds us that on the road of change and uncertainty of tomorrow, He will never leave or forsake us. Even those who battle with mental illness you are not alone. He knows the plans for all of us, and his plan is good despite what our circumstances may try to say.

It is wonderful taking walks in the  fall season, taking walks, and seeing God’s magnificent and creative hand on display through the wonderful colors telling me hey, I am still here. Seasons, careers, relationships, home address, and the bank amount may change, but we decide if we want God to walk with us through these changes or do we say, “I rather walk alone.” If we ever choose the latter, as I have a time or two, I will be the first to say there is no joy in that. In God, true contentment, peace, protection, and joy are found. Knowing and accepting that truth can help us in every a season that brings change.
I leave you with this thought that I learned along this journey called life.
Change can come in different shapes and forms. It can come quickly as the twinkling of an eye, or like the slow process from worm to a butterfly. Change is part of the journey that we all must walk, whether it be a change in season or a change in thought. My prayer for you is that in the end, you will see, that whatever journey change takes you on, by your side, God will always be.
1 Thessalonians 5:18
“give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 Chronicles 16:34
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
