10:00 Sunday Worship Service

Come worship with us at Leonia United Methodist Church! We worship in the sanctuary at 10 AM. Children of God of all ages are welcome. Come dressed as you would like. (Some of our congregation wear jeans and others come in dresses and hats.) Our service lasts from 60 to 90 minutes and includes prayer, hymns, responsive readings, Scripture readings, a Biblical and relevant sermon, special music from our choir or another instrumental or vocal ensemble, and holy communion.

Christmas Eve Offering – Give Jesus A Birthday Present

Dedicated to the Elijah Fund

Christmas is Jesus’ birthday! Why not give Jesus an extra-special birthday present this year? You can do that by giving to the 2017 Special Christmas Eve Offering. Every year, Leonia Church dedicates our Special Christmas Eve Offering to mission and ministry “beyond the walls” of our church building. The offering taken on Christmas Eve 2017 will be given to the Leonia Church Elijah Fund.

Give on Christmas Eve… or Anytime

Advent 2017

The angel said unto them: “Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be TO ALL PEOPLE. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:10-11)

The 809 Gathering (a new kind of church service)

Wednesdays at 8:09 p.m.
Chapel

Come check out our new weekly gatherings starting this October!  These gatherings are relaxed and fun, but also powerful spiritual experiences!

What will you find when you come?

  • Worship leaders and the congregation come dressed casually;
  • Coffee and other refreshments are served before, during and after the service;
  • Come early or stay late and just “hanging out;”
  • Singing is accompanied by guitar, drums, keyboard… typical music you would find anywhere else;
  • The sermon includes time for discussion to help you connect with others and with the “big idea;”

It’s the kind of thing you can invite family, friends and neighbors to!

Serve on Sunday

Sunday morning at Leonia United Methodist Church is a pretty exciting time. It is when the entire congregation, friends, family and visitors get together to worship Jesus and spend time with one another. On any given Sunday morning, several people come together to serve the congregation and make our worship service and other programs happen.

At Leonia Church, we do not have any “volunteers” because in Jesus’ Kingdom, there are no volunteers. At our church, we follow the example of Jesus, our Servant King, who first served us. At Leonia Church, we call the people who serve us on Sunday mornings “Worship Servants.” And, many of us have discovered that the best experience on Sunday morning is serving. Interested?
